LEXINGTON, Va. – The Franklin & Marshall women's tennis team was defeated on the road, 8-1, in its match against No. 22 Washington & Lee Saturday morning.

F&M's lone win came in the third doubles match as the pairing of Presley Daggett and Sammi Perry captured an 8-2 victory. It is the second doubles win of the season for the pairing as the duo earned an 8-5 victory against Ithaca earlier this month.

The Diplomats battled in the singles matches with Rebecca Bellick (No. 3) being edged in her first set, 6-4. However, Washington & Lee was too much to overcome as the Generals swept through the singles matches.

Franklin & Marshall continues its road stretch at Mary Washington Sunday at noon.
