F&M's campaign culminated as the CC runners-up, falling in the Championship game against host Johns Hopkins, 3-0, on Nov. 10.

The Diplomats opened the 2019 season with a four-game winning streak, including three victories at the F&M Invitational over Mary Washington, Geneseo, and Arcadia. F&M continued strong out-of-conference play, taking an 8-2 record into the beginning of CC competition on Sept. 21.

F&M dominated the CC schedule, remaining unbeaten until the regular-season finale at Johns Hopkins on Nov. 2 to close out a 9-1 CC performance. The Diplomats took out McDaniel in four sets in the CC Semifinals on Nov. 2 to advance to the Finals against Johns Hopkins. F&M fell to the eventual National-Champion Blue Jays in three hard-fought sets.

Head Coach Mary Kate Salko picked up her second consecutive 20-win season, the ninth time that she has reached that mark in 17 years at the helm of the Diplomats. She concluded 2019 with 326 career victories, the only Conference coach to earn over 300 wins in the CC era. Salko became F&M's winningest coach in 2016, passing Steve Coulson (251).

Junior Grace Maggiore became the eighth Diplomat to cross the 2,000-assist threshold, and the first since Allison Edelstein '17, with a 30-assist performance against Neumann on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Maggiore enters her final season seventh in program history with 2,684 career assists, 316 away from becoming the fifth Diplomat to ever reach 3,000. Allison Franke finished second in the CC with 3.7 points per set and sixth with 322.5 total points. The sophomore was seventh in the CC with 253 total kills and 2.88 kills per set. The duo earned All-America honors for the second consecutive season, giving F&M multiple All-Americans for the second time in program history.

The team's success carried into the postseason as the Diplomats were honored for outstanding play throughout the postseason.
