LANCASTER, Pa. – Thomas Graminski was named Centennial Conference (CC) Men's Swimmer of the Week while Julie McFadden was selected CC Women's Swimmer of the Week to sweep swimming's weekly awards for Franklin & Marshall. The honor is the second in both Graminski and McFadden's careers, and the second of the season for McFadden.
It marked the sixth and seventh time this season that the Diplomats have been represented in the weekly awards and the third time this season that F&M has swept the awards.
Graminski (Red Hook, N.Y. / Red Hook) two individual first-place finishes and an individual second-place finish in No. 20 F&M's tri-meet sweep over No. 23 Mary Washington and Division II Barton. The sophomore took first in both the 100 breaststroke (59.54) and 200 breaststroke (2:11.73), finished second in the 200 IM (1:59.04), and was a key cog in the first-place 200 medley relay (1:34.46) for the Diplomats.
McFadden (Berwyn, Pa. / Conestoga) took three individual first-place finishes in F&M's tri-meet with Division II Barton and Mary Washington. The first-year took first in the 50 freestyle (25.41), 100 freestyle (54.31), and 100 backstroke (1:01.22) as the Diplomats downed Barton in the tri-meet split.
F&M returns to CC competition on Friday when the Diplomats go to McDaniel for a 6:00 p.m. meet.
