Women's Soccer Plays Gettysburg to 1-1 Draw

GETTYSBURG, Pa.- The Franklin & Marshall women's soccer team (10-2-4, 4-2-3 CC) battled Gettysburg (6-6-4, 3-3-3 CC) to a 1-1 tie in its Centennial Conference match Wednesday evening.

Meg O'Callahan scored the lone goal for the Diplomats in the 67th minute of the match for her fifth score of the season. The Gettysburg defense tried clearing the loose ball out of the box when O'Callahan denied the clearing attempt, gathered possession, and fired her shot into the bottom-right corner of the net.

Gettysburg scored the equalizer in the 71st minute of play on a strike that narrowly missed the outstretched fingertips of Emma Nolan and snuck inside the left post to tie the game at 1-1.

F&M's last attack of the match came in the 84th minute after Lainie Anderson took the ball away from Gettysburg in the middle of the field. Anderson was able to head the ball to Alison Francis, who found Sierra Brophy in stride inside the Bullets' box. Brophy sent a shot that skipped off the hands of the Gettysburg goalkeeper and over the crossbar.

The Diplomats peppered the Bullets' net with 21 shots and 13 on goal in the contest.

Franklin & Marshall wraps up the regular season at No. 3 Johns Hopkins Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
