LANCASTER, Pa. – Reilly Melvin has been named the Centennial Conference Women's Golfer of the Week after capturing medalist honors during the Dickinson Tri-Match. That weekly recognition is the second for the Diplomats this fall after Bryn Fitchett earned that same accolade in mid-September following the team's victory at its home invitational.
Melvin, a first-year, took home medalist honors with a score of 81. She posted a season low score, trimming three strokes off her previous best and tying the best individual round for a team during the fall season. Melvin is currently tied for the team lead in scoring average (84.3) after the fall season and has improved her score during each successive event that she has competed in.
F&M had the top three individuals in the three-team event at Dickinson but did not have enough golfers competing to qualify for team scoring. That competition marked the team's final event of the fall season. The Diplomats will play the majority of their events during the spring season. That schedule will be announced in the coming months.
