COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's outdoor track & field added another scoring performance and several other top 10 finishes during day two of the 2022 Centennial Conference Championships.
The Diplomats scoring performance came in the 4x800 relay as the team of Jack Emrey , Tommy Towers, Alex Miller, and Nick Trapani got the baton around the track in a time of 8:12.33 to place eighth overall.
Franklin & Marshall's strongest performance of the day came in the 800 meter individual preliminaries as Ryan Braun (1:55.17) was the top qualifier to tomorrow's finals in that event while Alex Fillman (1:55.78) also secured his time in the finals with the third-fastest qualifying time. Adam Green advanced to the finals in the 400 meter hurdles as he grabbed the final spot with a time of 1:01.37.
The Diplomats nearly added more finalists as Corey Neves was ninth in the 100 meter qualifying (11.55), followed by teammates Elliott Coulter (11.57) and Amare Conley (11.58). Coulter also led the team in the 200 meter qualifying races (23.29), finishing 11th.
F&M just missed points in three other finals-only events as Artie Richards was ninth in the discus (35.81), while Alex Miller (10:17.30) and Stephen Finck (10:32.50) were 10th and 11th in the steeplechase. Izak Murphy led the team's high jump efforts as he cleared 1.71 meters to place 11th.
The Centennial Conference Championships wrap up on Sunday. Action will get underway at 11 a.m. with the javelin and 4x100 meter relay events. Competition will run throughout the afternoon before wrapping up with the awards ceremony at 3:40 p.m.
