Men's Track & Field Set for 2022 CC Outdoor Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's track & field team will travel to Ursinus this weekend for the 2022 Centennial Conference Outdoor Championships. The championship meet gets underway on Friday, May 6 and continues through Sunday, May 8. Live video and live results will be available throughout the weekend to follow F&M's championship performances.

Individually on the track, the Diplomats look poised to score in a number of different events. Senior Ryan Braun and first-year Alex Miller are seeded third and fourth in the 800 meters and are in medal contention at the conference meet. Braun was a bronze medalist for F&M during the indoor season during this same event. Those two are also expected to be part of the 4x800 meter relay that comes into the weekend ranked second in the conference after also taking silver during the indoor championships. Miller will additionally be looking to score in the steeplechase where he is ranked eighth in the conference.

Throughout the sprints, first-year Elliott Coulter and sophomore Corey Neves are both seeded in the top 10 of the 100 and 200 meters, respectively. Those individuals should also play a key role in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays that are seeded fifth and seventh coming into the weekend. First-year Adam Green additionally holds a top 10 seed in the 400 meter hurdles and will be vying for team points this weekend during that event.

Junior Jack Rodenberger is a returning All-Centennial Conference performer from last spring and ranked second for the Diplomats in the javelin. One of the top throwers in the country, Rodenberger will be looking to move up the national rankings during the coming weeks to secure a spot in the NCAA Division III Championships. Throwing should be an overall strength for F&M as first-year Will Bramley and sophomore Jack Ahearn are seeded fifth and 10th, respectively, in the hammer. Fellow sophomore Artie Richards' finds his best seed at No. 9 in the discus coming into the weekend.

Sophomores Peter Kawakami (eighth; pole vault) and Izak Murphy (ninth; high jump) are both in prime position to score for the Diplomats this weekend throughout the jumps. During the 2022 Centennial Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, the Diplomats scored 46.5 points for their highest team score since the 2016 season which led to a sixth-place team finish.
