Schiavone Takes Fourth in 100 Free, Diplomats Conclude NCAA Weekend

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Christopher Schiavone delivered a fourth-place finish in the 100-yard Freestyle of the NCAA Championships, resetting his own program mark and the Centennial Conference (CC) record, with a time of 43.97 on Saturday evening.

Schiavone's top-8 finish earned the sophomore his second All-America First Team recognition of the weekend. 

All-America Status

F&M men's swimming delivered on its historic weekend, bringing home two individual All-America First Team honors and eight All-America Honorable Mentions across two relay teams, the most in the men's program's history for one season. 

Selections are made on the basis of their finish at NCAA Championships. First Team is awarded to individuals and relays placing 1st-8th. Honorable Mention is awarded to competitors placing 9th-16th. 

Team Finish

F&M recorded the program's best finish, accumulating 32 points, which was good for 23rd. The 1998 squad was the last team to tally a top-30 finish, taking 26th. Denison took home the National Title, finishing with 562.5 team points.
