LANCASTER, Pa. – The Franklin & Marshall men's soccer is up to No. 7 nationally in both the United Soccer Coaches and Top 25 National Polls. The Diplomats continue to trend upwards in the polls as they finished the regular season on a four-match winning streak and have not suffered a loss since the opening week of the fall.

On the strength of the 1-0 victory over Johns Hopkins this past Saturday, the Diplomats finished the regular season with an overall record of 12-1-4. The team's 7-0-2 Centennial Conference record earned them the top seed throughout the upcoming Centennial Conference Tournament after F&M claimed first in the regular season standings.

Also released this week was the third set of NCAA regional rankings which lead into the selection of NCAA at-large bids to the 2022 Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. Despite the head-to-head victory over Johns Hopkins, F&M is currently ranked third in region V behind only Messiah and Johns Hopkins. The Diplomats are 1-1-2 against regionally-ranked opponents this year with the win against JHU and draws against both Gettysburg and Lancaster Bible. Franklin & Marshall has .583 strength of schedule rating which is second in region, only an insignificant six-thousandths of a point behind Moravian.

Before the selection of at-large bids, men's soccer has a chance to take matters into its own hands this week as the winner of the Centennial Conference Tournament will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Franklin & Marshall's postseason begins in the conference semifinals on Friday night at 7 p.m. against Muhlenberg. With a win, the Diplomats would host Sunday's championship game which is slated for 2 p.m. on Tylus Field. Washington College and Johns Hopkins make up the other CC semifinal pairing.
