LANCASTER, Pa. – Shane Lawler has been named the Centennial Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the second time this season and the fourth time in his career. Lawler most recently placed seventh at the Royal Lakes Invitational in Flowery Beach, Georgia earlier this week to earn his latest honor.
Lawler carded a 36-hole score of two-under at F&M's most recent event. The Diplomats' sophomore went two-under during his first round and even par on the second day for a combined score of 142 on the par-72 course. Lawler currently leads Franklin & Marshall with a 72.1 scoring average through his first eight rounds of the fall season. His 74.62 career scoring average is ranked third in program history, while his single season average is on pace to be the best in school history.
Men's golf has three events remaining on its fall schedule before breaking for the semester. The Diplomats will send teams to both the Gino Biondi Memorial and Cardinal Fall Classic this coming Saturday, October 15 and Sunday, October 16 before wrapping up at the F&M Fall Invitational on Monday, October 17.
