    Erin Coverdale of the field hockey team and Kevin Mollihan of the men’s lacrosse team were presented with the highest honors given to Franklin & Marshall senior athletes at the annual awards ceremony on Monday.

The pair will be honored at an induction ceremony scheduled for Friday, October 31st.   • Season in Review: 2019 F&M Football

    An eighth postseason appearance in the last 11 years and third consecutive Centennial-MAC Bowl victory highlighted the 2019 football season for Franklin & Marshall. The Diplomats ended the year with a 7-4 record, bringing the program total to 640, which ranks ninth nationally in all of Division III. Eight Diplomats earned a spot on the All-Centennial Conference (CC) Team, and Kevonte Beard ’23 was named CC Rookie of the Year, becoming the first Diplomat to be named Rookie of the Year in the eight-year history of the award. 
  • Denoncour Named D3football All-Region

    Franklin & Marshall senior tackle Brian Denoncour was named to the D3football.com All-South Region Second Team announced on Tuesday. The All-South teams, selected in balloting by South Region athletic communication directors and D3football.com staff, were chosen from 246 nominations by Division III member schools. A total of 75 players were chosen. 
  • Diplomats Dominate Misericordia for CC-MAC Bowl Title

    Franklin & Marshall picked up its third consecutive MAC-CC Bowl Title with a convincing 31-13 win over Misericordia Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats end the year with a 7-4 mark, while the Cougars fall to 5-5.

  • Diplomats Set for CC-MAC Bowl - Week 11 Game Notes

    This is the first meeting between the two sides. The two teams do have cross-over opponents, which F&M holds a slight edge. The Diplomats defeated Lebanon Valley and McDaniel this past season, while the Cougars lost to McDaniel in their opener and defeated Lebanon Valley two weeks later.
  • Eight Named All-Conference; Beard Nabs Rookie of the Year Honors

    Eight members of the Franklin & Marshall football team earned spots on the 2019 All-Centennial Conference (CC) Team. Three earned first-team honors, three landed on the second team and one received honorable mention and one player was named Rookie of the Year. F&M brought their total first-team selections to 142, which ranks third in the CC.

    Franklin & Marshall Dominated Gettysburg in Centennial Conference (CC) play on Saturday's Senior Day at Shadek Stadium, 55-7. Garrett Perschy threw for 190 yards while rushing for 47, tallying four total touchdowns.

  • Diplomats Handle Gettysburg; Secure Postseason Bowl

    Franklin & Marshall scored the first 41 points of the game, en route to a 55-7 victory over Gettysburg in Centennial Conference (CC) football action Saturday afternoon. With the victory, the Diplomats clinched a spot in a Centennial-MAC Bowl game next weekend, with their seed and opponent to be determined on Sunday. F&M improved to 6-4, 5-4 CC, while the Bullets fell to 1-9, 1-8 CC.
  • Lammers Earns Academic All-District Honor

    Franklin & Marshall’s Kevin Lammers was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 4 Football Team, announced on Thursday. The honor marked the third-straight year Lammers made the list as a special teams representative.
  • F&M Faces Gettysburg for Lincoln Trophy - Week 10 Game Notes

    This matchup is about as even as it gets, dating back to the 1890’s, with F&M holding a one-game edge over Gettysburg after 104 meetings. F&M has held a slightly larger edge since joining the same conference in 1976, holding a 24-17-1 advantage since the Bicentennial. The Diplomats have won the last three meetings against the Bullets, including a 30-point blowout in 2017 and a 24-point victory in 2018.

    Franklin & Marshall seniors Kevin Gault and Kevin Lammers were named the Centennial Conference (CC) Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week announced on Sunday. The honor is the first for both this season and the third award for a member of the F&M team.
  • Fourth Quarter Surge Lifts Diplomats Past Ursinus

    Franklin & Marshall exploded for 28 points in the fourth quarter to break a 16-16 tie and defeated Ursinus 44-16 in Centennial Conference (CC) football action Saturday afternoon. The Diplomats improved to 5-4, 4-4 CC, while the Bears fell to 4-5, 3-5 CC.
  • Scholar-Athlete Profile: Ed Van Dolsen '80

    During the summer between his junior and senior years at Franklin & Marshall College, Ed Van Dolsen ’80 took a job at the Lancaster Stockyards. Much like what had happened on the football field during his first two years at F&M, he was instructed in the herding and hustling of bulls by head football coach Tom Gilburg.

    F&M does battle with one of its oldest rivals on Saturday, facing off against Ursinus for the 102nd time in school history. The Diplomats have largely dominated the all-time series, winning nearly two-thirds of the matchups (66-31-4). The series has tightened in recent years, with the last decade of play being split evenly, with both teams taking five games.

    The Diplomats hold the upper hand against the Greyhounds, winning 23-of-31 meetings between the two sides. F&M has emerged victorious in six of the last eight matchups, including the last three. Moravian has proved to be a tough game on the road, as six of F&M’s eight losses to the Greyhounds have come in Bethlehem.
  • Football Team Donates 8,000 Diapers and 11,000 Wipes to WSM

    The Franklin & Marshall Football Team donated 8,000 diapers and 11,000 wipes to the Water Street Ministries Shelter that will provide children with diapers for the next three months at the shelter. Since its inception in 2012, The Little Dips Diaper Drive has collected more than 78,000 diapers for the children living at Water Street.

    Franklin & Marshall faces Dickinson for the 111th time, the longest running rivalry in school history. The two sides have met every year since 1947, a streak of 73 years. The first meeting came in the Diplomats’ inaugural season competing at the collegiate level in 1889. F&M largely dominated the series from 1910 through 1987, dropping only 12 meetings in the eight-decade span. The Red Devils took control in 1988, winning 19 of the next 22 meetings. The Diplomats have had the upper hand as of late, winning the Conestoga Wagon in six of the last nine, including the last three meetings.

    F&M touts a 14-3-2 record against Susquehanna, with the series history nearly evenly split between the turn of the century (1898-1915) and the 2010’s. The Diplomats were unbeaten in their first 11 games against the River Hawks, spanning over 110 years, outscoring the Selinsgrove, Pa.-based university by a 284-57 margin. The rivalry has tightened considerably in recent history, with F&M holding a 5-3 record in the past decade of play, including victories in five of the last six. The past seven games have all been decided by ten points or less, with an average margin of victory by either side being less than six points.
