LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall College is ecstatic to announce that the monthlong Raise Our Game campaign has once again exceeded the most ambitious goal it has ever set. In coordination with a college-wide effort, the athletic department set goals of $400,000 and 2,000 donors for the month of October. Thanks to outstanding philanthropy from alumni, fans, parents, student-athletes, and so many more, we are excited to share the news that the campaign raised a record-breaking $407,591 from 2,155 generous donors.
This campaign included 20 matching challenges that offered over $90,000 to multiple teams when campaign goals were met. Eighteen of those challenge goals were met while multiple teams achieved their individual program goals. Eight different varsity programs received over 100 donations throughout the last month.
"Franklin & Marshall would not be able to provide the tremendous scholar-athlete experience that we do without these incredible gifts," said Director of Athletics & Recreation Lauren Packer Webster. "The generosity of so many individuals highlight just how much of an impact our department can have on these talented students. I know that with the support we continually experience, Diplomat Athletics is well-positioned to continue building on our long-standing tradition of excellence."
In addition to the financial support from numerous student-athletes, those individuals each gave of their time as well with field hockey, women's basketball, men's basketball, softball, wrestling, and women's lacrosse each hosting phonathons to meet their goals. One-third of all gifts made throughout the campaign came from alumni, proving once again that the Franklin & Marshall experience extends well beyond the four-year undergraduate experience.
