  • SALC Hosts STRIVE Leadership Workshop

    F&M’s Student Athlete Leadership Council (SALC) hosted a leadership workshop on collaborating and community building for SALC members, student-athletes, and student leaders from other areas of campus. Strive Leadership facilitated the interactive session that touched on themes of self-awareness, empathy, and communication skills.
  • First Year and Transfer Student Workshop

    Thanks for the Diplomat Discovery and Development Initiative, the Student-Athlete Leadership Council partnered with Strive Leadership to deliver a leadership workshop for all First Year and Transfer Student-Athletes. Titled “ What Does It Mean to be a Diplomat?” the workshop first touched on the Social Change Model of Leadership and it’s individual, group and community values. The interactive session then took students through leadership styles, followership styles, core values, and building a positive culture.

  • F&M Well Represented at NCAA Convention

    Franklin & Marshall was represented by three students at last week’s 2019 NCAA Convention in Orlando. Tyler Schubert ’19 (football), Kevin Lammers (football and baseball) ’20, and Delano Brown ’20 (women’s basketball manager) sat in on various meetings and panel discussions while offering valuable input to administrators within the Centennial Conference and the NCAA before their voting on key Division III legislation.

    The Department of Athletics welcomed back Jennifer Galambos ’88, Andy Gilburg ’01, Kelsey Tylus Testa ’09, and Brett Poniros ’16 to campus for an alumni panel. Panelists spoke about how they have drawn from their student-athlete experience at F&M throughout their careers, and how their time competing as a Diplomat as informed many moments professionally.

    Franklin & Marshall women’s lacrosse player Paige Moriarty ’18, women’s rower Emilie MacDonald ’18, softball head coach Brooke Kalman, and assistant women’s lacrosse coach Brooke Sabol joined 50 other female members of the Centennial Conference for the 19th annual Snell-Shillingford Coaching Symposium, hosted by Swarthmore this past weekend.
