40 Years of Women's Sports

Franklin & Marshall celebrates 40 years of coeducation in 2009-2010.  From the outset, F&M’s women were involved in sports, giving rise to a culture of excellence and achievement. 40 years later, the Diplomat women have captured three NCAA Division III Titles, made 28 NCAA Championship Tournament appearances, and have won 41 conference championships.

The athletic success never came at the expense of academics. 13 Diplomats have been named CoSIDA Academic All-Americans or Scholar All-Americans in their sport, while all of our teams are regularly recognized by their governing body or coaches organizations for academic achievement. Two women have earned NCAA Postgraduate Scholarships, and many Franklin & Marshall’s student-athletes have gone on to become leaders in society.
