Crawley Places Fifth

NEWARK, Del.- Sheena Crawley proved she can run among the best runners placing fifth overall in a field mixed with athletes from Division I, II, and III. Crawley led her team to a first place finish in DII-III team standings at the Blue & Gold Invitational hosted by The University of Delaware.

Crawley out ran 131 competitors on the 5k course finishing with a time of 19:10. Teammate Amy Jordan also finished under the 20 minute mark coming in at 19:40 placing 15th. Laura Schmitz came across the finish line with a time of 20:06 placing 23rd. Rachel Suydam took 41st with a time of 20:55 and Emily Wilson finished in the top 50 with a time of 21:07 placing 46th.

Franklin & Marshall beat out nine other teams to place first in team standings. F&M beat second place team Philadelphia by five points to take the title.

The Diplomats will compete at the Centennial Conference Championship in Baltimore on Saturday. Start of the race is set for 11:00 AM
