Diplomats Run at Mideast Regionals

WAYNESBURG, Pa - The Franklin & Marshall women's cross country team finished 23rd out of 44 teams on Saturday at the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships held at Waynesburg.

Five Centennial Conference schools placed in the top 10, including top finisher Johns Hopkins who beat out Dickinson for the title. Haverford and Swarthmore took sixth and seventh, respectively, while Gettysburg grabbed the 10th spot. Ursinus' Christa Johnson won the race with a time of 22:01.

Junior Kelly Farrelly led the pack of Diplomats, crossing in 95th place with a time of 25:08. Amy Jordan came in second on the team and 113th overall in 25:23, while Rachel Suydam ran 25:37 for 126th out of 287 runners.

Sophomores Jenna Bush and Amy Burke took fourth and fifth on the squad, respectively. Bush clocked in at 25:43 for 132nd place, while Burke ran the course in 26:16 for 160th.

Freshmen Grace Thompson and Liz Albright rounded out the runners for F&M. Thompson kept a 7:05 pace for a total time of 26:21 and Albright finished with a time of 26:49.
