Phelan and Morano Earn All-CC Honors

Margot Phelan and Nicole Morano, members of Franklin & Marshall’s volleyball team, were named to the 2008 All-Centennial Conference Volleyball team. Phelan earned All-Centennial First Team honors, while Morano was named to the Second Team. Both were also named to the Centennial's Academic Honor Roll. (more)

Diplomats Fall in CC Semifinals

The top-seeded Gettysburg women’s volleyball team used scores of 25-22, 25-21 and 25-17 to defeat Franklin & Marshall 3-0 in the Centennial Conference semifinals on Saturday at Bream Gymnasium. (more)

Diplomats Ace Way Into Semifinals

Franklin & Marshall used 14 aces to sweep Dickinson 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-19) in the first round of the Centennial Conference Volleyball Championship Tournament. Erica Spangler and Pam Horner each recorded four aces for F&M, which advances on to Saturday’s semifinal at Gettysburg. (more)

Volleyball Wraps Up Regular Season With Win

Franklin & Marshall’s volleyball team wrapped up the regular season with a 3-2 (25-16, 15-25, 20-25, 25-16, 15-12) win over Swarthmore in Centennial Conference (CC) play on Saturday. The win was the fourth in a row for F&M (12-15, 7-3 CC), which had locked up the four-seed for the upcoming CC Championship Tournament. Swarthmore dropped to 6-19, 2-7. (more)

Morano Earns Player of the Week Honors

Sophomore middle hitter Nicole Morano was named the Centennial Conference’s Player of the Week in volleyball following her performance in last week’s critical league wins over Dickinson and Muhlenberg, both of which were necessary to keep the Diplomats’ postseason hopes alive. (more)

Volleyball Clinches Playoff Spot

Franklin & Marshall’s volleyball team secured a spot in the Centennial Conference (CC) Championship Tournament by virtue of a 3-0 (25-13, 25-18, 25-11) win in league play with Bryn Mawr Monday evening. Only Dickinson and Muhlenberg can match F&M in the final standings, each of which F&M defeated, giving the Diplomats the tiebreaker should it be necessary. (more)

Diplomats Playoff Hopes Livin’ After Allentown

Franklin & Marshall’s volleyball team swept Muhlenberg 3-0 in a key match for the fifth and final berth in Centennial Conference (CC) Championship Tournament. Both teams were tied for fifth place at 4-3 in CC play heading into the match. F&M has two matches left in league play with Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore slated to come to F&M over the final week of the season. (more)

Diplomats Sweep Dickinson

Franklin & Marshall swept Dickinson 3-0 in a critical Centennial matchup for the Diplomats, eyeing a conference tournament berth. The Diplomats improved to 4-3 (9-15 overall) in league play with three matches left on the slate. Dickinson, fell to 5-2 in the Centennial, and dipped below .500 at 10-11. (more)

Former All-Region setter Mary Kate Boland '01 returned to Franklin & Marshall College in the fall of 2003 as the 10th head coach in Diplomats' volleyball history and has had a dramatic impact on the program leading the team to the 2005 Centennial Conference title match. A 1998-2000 American Volleyball Coaches Association All Mid-Atlantic Region player, she averaged 10.19 assists per game to lead the Diplomats to a school record 34-6 mark, a perfect 10-0 conference record, the Centennial Conference Tournament title and a "Sweet 16" finish in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament as a senior.
