All-American Honorable Mention for Morano

Franklin & Marshall junior Nicole Morano was attained All-American Honorable Mention from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). The middle hitter becomes just the second Diplomat to receive All-America recognition in the sport of volleyball, joining Margot Phelan ’08, who attained honorable mention in 2006. (more)

Four Diplomats Named to CC Sportsmanship Team

Four Franklin & Marshall athletes have been named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team. Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student from each fall program who exemplified the best in sportsmanship. Nominations were submitted by the athletic departments or head coaches. (more)

Horner and Morano Named All-Centennial

Franklin & Marshall juniors Pamela Horner and Nicole Morano were named to the All-Centennial Conference Volleyball team when it was announced on Thursday. (more)

Morano Named All-Region

Hours after earning a spot on the Centennial Conference’s First Team, Nicole Morano earned a second honor on Thursday. The Diplomats’ junior was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Mid-Atlantic Region First Team. (more)

Diplomats Ousted from CC Playoffs

Franklin & Marshall was ousted from the Centennial Conference (CC) volleyball championship tournament with a 3-1 loss to Gettysburg. The Diplomats end the 2009 campaign at 23-6. Gettysburg advances to the CC finals and will face Haverford. The Fords advanced to their fourth consecutive championship match and they now have a chance to become just the third four-peat in Centennial history. (more)

Twenty-Seven Diplomats Named to Academic Honor Roll

Twenty-seven Diplomats have been named to the 2009 Centennial Conference (CC) Fall Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must participate in at least 50% of his or her team’s contests, be a sophomore or higher and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40. Playoffs!

It has been a successful and productive fall season for Franklin & Marshall athletics with three teams advancing to the Centennial Conference (CC) playoffs in their respective sports. The Diplomats’ Field Hockey, Men’s Soccer and Volleyball teams all made the CC postseason. (more)

Diplomats Topple Garnet

Franklin & Marshall’s volleyball toppled Swarthmore 3-1 in a Centennial Conference (CC) match on Saturday. With the victory in the final tune-up before next week’s CC Championship tournament, the Diplomats close the regular season at 23-5 (9-1 CC). That marks the most wins in Mary Kate Boland’s seven years as head coach, as well as the most wins since the 2002 season. (more)

Volleyball Sweeps Mules on Homecoming

Kerry Rom posted 12 kills and nine digs to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 3-0 sweep of Muhlenberg on Homecoming Saturday. With the fourth win in their last five matches, the Diplomats improved to 22-5 (8-1 Centennial). Muhlenberg slipped to 8-12 (3-4 CC). (more)

Former All-Region setter Mary Kate Boland '01 returned to Franklin & Marshall College in the fall of 2003 as the 10th head coach in Diplomats' volleyball history and has had a dramatic impact on the program leading the team to the 2005 Centennial Conference title match. A 1998-2000 American Volleyball Coaches Association All Mid-Atlantic Region player, she averaged 10.19 assists per game to lead the Diplomats to a school record 34-6 mark, a perfect 10-0 conference record, the Centennial Conference Tournament title and a "Sweet 16" finish in the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament as a senior.
