Diplomats Win Two in A.C.

Franklin & Marshall’s volleyball team picked up wins over Penn State-Abington and Gwynedd-Mercy and dropped a decision to the hosts at the Richard Stockton University Osprey Classic on Saturday. All three matches were sweeps. (more)

Track Wraps up Season

The Franklin & Marshall Track Team finished their season at today’s ECAC Track & Field Championship hosted by Springfield College. Anno Kwaku finished 21st in the 400m and 24th in the long jump. He ran 50.33 and jumped 20’ 05.25”. Erin Gleason took 13th in the shot put (37’11.50”) and 20th in the discuss (112’ 11”). (more)

Catalano and Gleason Second at Swarthmore

Alyssa Catalano and Erin Gleason both placed second at this weekend’s Last Chance Meet hosted by Swarthmore College. Catalano threw an NCAA provisional mark in the hammer throw with a distance of 153’06” (47.78m). Gleason was second in the shot (37’8”) and tenth in javelin (100’11”). (more)

Gleason is Golden

Franklin & Marshall’s Erin Gleason won two gold medals at Sunday’s final round of the Centennial Conference Track & Field Championships. Gleason picked up her first gold in the javelin. She threw for 32.23m, besting Kathy Horn from Johns Hopkins by .4m. (more)

Gleason Gets Silver in Discus

Franklin & Marshall’s Erin Gleason earned silver in the discus with a 119’ 5” toss at the Centennial Conference Championships on Saturday. Jackie Freund of Haverford won the event at 129’-even. Gleason’s effort headlined day two of the three day meet for F&M. The Diplomats are in eighth place amongst the Conference’s 10 teams. (more)

Farrelly Places in 10k

Franklin & Marshall’s Kelly Farrelly placed 10th in the 10k run at Friday’s Centennial Conference Track & Field Championships. Farrelly turned in a time of 41:08. There were only three event finals on Friday. (more)

Catalano and Gleason Throw Into Top Ten

Alyssa Catalano and Erin Gleason both placed in the top-ten in two events at this weekend’s non-team-scoring Paul Kaiser Classic, hosted by Shippensburg University. Catalano placed third in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.99m. She threw 11.77 in the shot put, which was good for fifth place. (more)

Shot Put Record Falls - Twice

Franklin & Marshall’s Erin Gleason broke her own shot put record with a hurl of 40’ 6.75” inches at the Millersville Metric on Friday. The new record stood for all of about a half-a-minute until Alyssa Catalano recorded a toss 3.5 inches longer. The record breaking pair finished one-two in the event to lead the Diplomats charge at the Marauders’ event. (more)

Four Diplomats Place in 5000m

Franklin & Marshall placed four women in the 5000 meter run at West Chester University on Saturday. Jenna Bush took second with a 19:58.92. Liz Luick came in third at 20:38.7. Grace Thompson and Emily Kornfeld placed sixth and seventh. (more)
