Diplomats Close Season With Win

Franklin & Marshall’s women’s tennis team closed out the 2009 tennis season with a 6-3 win over Swarthmore Saturday afternoon. Dana Russo and Valeri Harteg each went 2-0 for the Diplomats (3-12, 3-7 CC). Two-thirds of the Garnet’s (5-10, 4-6 CC) wins came in doubles competition. (more)

Shorthanded Diplomats Swept by Dickinson

Dickinson blanked Franklin & Marshall 9-0 in women’s tennis on Tuesday. The Diplomats were without a full lineup. Valeri Harteg was the only Diplomat that threatened to break up the shutout, taking Leigh Oczkowski to a match-tiebreaker, but fell 10-8. F&M dropped to 2-11 (2-6 Centennial), while Dickinson improved to 10-7 (5-4 Centennial). The Diplomats close out the season on Saturday at Swarthmore. (more)

Diplomats Edge Owls

Franklin & Marshall’s women’s tennis team earned four singles and one doubles match in edging out a 5-4 Centennial Conference (CC) win over Bryn Mawr on Friday. The Diplomats move to 2-10 (2-5 CC), while the Owls dropped to 3-15 (2-6 CC). (more)

Diplomats Blanked by Mules

Franklin & Marshall’s women’s tennis team was shutout 9-0 by Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Thursday. The Diplomats fell to 1-10 (1-5 CC), while Muhlenberg tightened its grip on second in the CC standings, improving to 6-1 in league play and 8-3 overall. The Diplomats return to action tomorrow against Bryn Mawr. (more)

Franklin & Marshall’s women’s tennis match with Bryn Mawr, set for 3:30 p.m. at Brooks Tennis Center has been postponed. No make up date has been scheduled. (more)

#8 Hopkins Blanks F&M

#8 Johns Hopkins rolled up its sixth-straight win and sixth-straight shutout at the expense of Franklin & Marshall in Saturday’s Centennial Conference (CC) proceedings. (more)

Gettysburg Takes Match at F&M

Gettysburg handed Franklin & Marshall’s women’s tennis team an 8-1 setback in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Wednesday. The Diplomats fell to 1-9 (1-4 CC) while Gettysburg improved to 7-4 (3-2 CC). (more)

Washington Blanks Franklin & Marshall

Washington College, ranked 12th in the Mid-Atlantic region, handed Franklin & Marshall’s women’s tennis team a 9-0 setback in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday. The Shorewomen (12-2, 4-1 CC) went unscathed in first and third doubles as well as first singles. The Diplomats (1-8, 1-3 CC) kept it close at second doubles, as well as fourth and fifth singles. Baseball - 1970




Kelleher has been appointed head men’s and women’s coach at Franklin & Marshall College. A 2005 graduate at the College of William and Mary, Kelleher was the top doubles and singles player for the Tribe all four years. He was a four-time All-CAA selection in doubles and singles, while becoming the first player in William and Mary history to be named Conference Rookie of the Year.
