Haverford Defeats Diplomats

LANCASTER, Pa. - Haverford's Kate Van Aken's early goal stood as the game-winner as the Fords defeated Franklin & Marshall 1-0 in a Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer game.

Aken's goal came in the 11th minute when she headed an Anna Rayne free kick over the outstretched arms of F&M keeper Katie Golding.  Both defenses stood stall the remainder of game.

The Diplomats matched Haverford in shots and corners, with each team firing off seven shots and earning five corners.

Golding took the loss, stopping two shots. Golding falls to 3-10. The Ford's Allison Martinez-Davis earns the win. Martinez-Davis picked up two saves and improves to 9-2-2.

Franklin & Marshall returns to field on October 21st when the Diplomats travel to Dickinson.
