Diplomats Fly over Owls

BRYN MAWR, Pa. -- Christine Madonia and Carley Nicholson scored two goals apiece to lead Franklin & Marshall to a 6-0 victory over Bryn Mawr Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action. The Diplomats (3-9, 1-3 CC) were firing on all cylinders, outshooting Bryn Mawr (5-5-1, 0-4 CC) 21-10.
Madonia put the Diplomats on the board, scoring her first goal 5:20 into the game. Shelby Cummins made it 2-0 when she took a Madonia pass and found the back of the net at 42:35.
Madonia's second goal of the afternoon came 54:55 into game when she scored off a Nicholson pass. Nicholson added two points for F&M scoring on back-to-back unassisted goals midway through the second half, putting F&M up 5-0. Jen Korngut scored the Diplomats sixth goal on an unassisted shot at 88:53.
F&M held an 8-3 advantage in corners kicks.
F&M keeper Katie Golding stopped eight shots, picking up the win. Golding improves to 3-9 this season. Allaina Propst takes the loss for Bryn Mawr. Propst picked up eight saves in the contest.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on October 6th when the Diplomats travel to York College.
