Brooke Young joins Franklin & Marshall as the first
full-time assistant women's lacrosse coach after spending three
seasons as the assistant varsity and head junior varsity coach at
Downingtown East High School.
As an undergraduate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel
Hill, Young was a four-year scholarship athlete for the
nationally-ranked Tar Heels. In 2002, she was a starter for the ACC
championship team that went on to the NCAA Final Four. Young was
also invited to try out for the United States National Development
Squad.
Professionally, Young was the women's lacrosse director at the
United Sports Training Center, helping organize and schedule
leagues, camps, clinic and tournament for all levels. She also
spent a year and a half as the Assistant Director of the
Downingtown Area Recreation Consortium and was a volunteer coaching
for the Triangle Area Lacrosse league from 2000-03. She has also
been a counselor for prestigious camps, including Maryland. Loyola,
Penn State and North Carolina.
Young graduated in May 2004 with a bachelor of arts degree in
Communication Studies from North Carolina. She resides in
Downingtown, Pa.
