Diplomat Women Fare Well at Princeton Invite

PRINCETON, N.J. - Maggie Selzer and Johanna Jasininski took second and fourth place respectively in the 1000 meter run at Saturday's Princeton Invitational. Their finishes were the best posted by Diplomats at the non-team scoring meet.

Selzer finished the race in 3:16.82, and Jasinski crossed approximately ten seconds later. The Diplomat pair followed Princeton's Avigail Kifer, and sandwiched Muhlenberg's Kathryn Niedzwiecki.

Megan Hunter posted a pair of marks that fall into the top ten performances amongst Centennial runners this season. Hunter's 1:01.12 in the 400-meter dash was good enough for fifth place, and was the fourth best time in the conference this year. She took ninth in the 200 with a 27.66, the eighth best time logged in the Centennial this season. Libby Haas finished two runners behind Hunter in the 400. Her time of 1:01.57 was the sixth best mark amongst Centennial competitors this year.

Alyssa Catalano took seventh place in the shot put followed by Erin Gleason. Catalano recorded a mark if 34' 7.75", the eighth best hurl in the Centennial this winter. Gleason covered 33' 9.5" with her throw. Catalano took seventh in the weight throw (41' 3.25") as well.

The Diplomats return to action next weekend at the Conference Championships hosted by Haverford.
