Women's Track Competitive at Kane Invite

ITHACA, N.Y. - Libby Haas, Megan Hunter, and Alyssa Catalano each took fourth place in their respective events for the best finish amongst Division III competition at Saturday's Robert J. Kane Invitational hosted by Cornell University.

Catalano posted a distance of 44' 1.5" in the weight throw, which was won by Maria Matos of host Cornell (57' 11.75"). Hunter took fourth in the 500 meter in 1:21.44. That race was won by Calla Humphries of Queens Universit, who finished in 1:18.89. Haas cleared at 5'1" in the high jump, six inches off of event winner Sarah Boyle of Toronto.

Haas also managed a ninth place finish in the 400 and a 14th place finish in the 200. Her 200 time of 25.4 was second amongst DIII competitors, while her 400 mark of 1:02.23 was third in the same group.

Karen Ziga finished sixth in the 5000 meter clocking an 18:48.63, the second best mark amongst DIII competition. Fiona Cundy of Cornell took the 5000 in 18:08.76.
