Head Coach
717-291-4100
College: Delaware

Carl Schnabel, mentor of the men's and women's track teams at Franklin & Marshall, is a native of Lancaster. He returned to his hometown to coach the Diplomat track teams in the summer of 2003, and currently resides in the city with his wife, Jennifer, and their four children.

A graduate of Upper Perkiomen High School where he played football, wrestled, and ran track, Schnabel continued his athletic and academic career at the University of Delaware. While earning a B.A. in history, Schnabel played football and ran track for the Blue Hens.

With over a quarter century's worth of experience in track and field, both as an athlete and a coach, Schnabel has worked with many of the country's premier coaches. At Kutztown, he assisted Brian Mondschein in a revitalization of the track & field program, helping the Bears capture 12 championships between 1997 and 2001.

His instructional creativity, demonstration of necessary techniques, and his knowledge of weight and strength training fundamentals have helped his athletes realize their maximum potential in athletics. His experiences as a student-athlete and high school teacher defined his enduring commitment to helping his student-athletes excel in academics as well.

Schnabel started his coaching career at Biola University in La Mirada, California where he served as assistant cross country and track and field coach from 1988-1993. He also coached at Lehigh University from 1993 through 1997.
