Diplomats Compete at CC Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The 4x200m relay and the distance medley team helped the Franklin & Marshall women's indoor track & field squad collect points on the first day of the 2009 Centennial Conference (CC) Championships at Ursinus on Saturday.

Johns Hopkins is in first place after day one with 53 points. Haverford is in second with 38 and Dickinson follows in third (29.50). The Diplomats are 10th with two points in six scored events.

Caitlin Regan, Claire Marshall, Henley Siegrist and Catherine Westerduin made up the 4x200 relay team that posted a time of 1:55.59 for eighth overall. Regan then joined Amy Jordan, Jenna Bush and Rachel Suydam in the distance medley for a time of 13:24.00 and eighth place.

Individually, Siegrist ran her season-best time 7.77 in the preliminaries of the 55m dash for ninth out of 24 runners. Westerduin set a PR in the long jump for 11th place with a leap of 15-06.75, going from 4.18m to 4.74m. She also competed with Marshall in the 55m hurdles, coming in 21st overall with a time of 10.69. Marshall just edged Westerduin with 10.67 for 20th place.

Competing in the one mile for F&M, Bush beat her seeded time with 5:45.52 for 22nd. She came into the meet with a season-best mark of 5:48.70.

F&M returns to Ursinus tomorrow for day two of the conference championships.
