Diplomats Golfers Ranked

Oct 21, 2009

LANCASTER, Pa. - For the first time in the program's nine-year history, Franklin & Marshall's women's golf team received votes in the Golf World/National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) Division III Poll.

The Diplomats earned three nods, placing the team 42nd in the poll. Methodist, the defending National Champion, earned all 15 first place votes.

F&M has had a solid start to the 2009-2010 season. As a team, F&M has averaged 376 shots per round, a 19-stroke improvement over last year's average, which was a school record by 15 strokes. The steady improvement in scores has coincided with Ryan Peffer's seasons coaching the squad. F&M started the fall season with a win at the eight-team Lady Bearcat Invitational.

F&M will close out the fall next week, co-hosting the Lancaster Intercollegiate Classic with Millersville.
