HAMPSTEAD, Md. - Meghan Maloney and Franklin & Marshall's women's golf team finished in third place at the McDaniel College Fall Invitational this afternoon.  Gettysburg's Caroline Nathan won the 18-hole tournament played at Piney Branch Golf Club to pace her squad to the tournament title.

Maloney was the only Diplomat to finish in the top ten of the 22 golfer field. Her 89 was 17 strokes over par, and three strokes off of Nathan's championship score of 86. Nathan finished the 5,870-yard circuit tied with Pennsylvania's Elizabeth Kresock, but claimed the medal on a match of cards. Maloney was also tied with a Quaker, Rachel Villano.

The Diplomats finished in third place amongst the three scoring teams. Three additional teams had individual entries.

Juila Fiala and Grace Gallagher finished back-to-back in 15th and 16th places, respectively. Fiala shot 97, while Gallagher shot 100. Beth Holt finished in 18th place, while Andrea Huffman tied for 20th.

The Diplomats are idle until October 18 when F&M plays in the 36-hole Regent's Glen Classic in York, Pa.
