Diplomats Lead at Halfway Point

LANCASTER, Pa. - After 18 of 36 holes, Franklin & Marshall's women's golf team is in first place among the four scoring teams competing at the Lancaster Intercollegiate Classic. F&M holds a one stroke lead on West Chester entering tomorrow's final round.
F&M first-year, Meghan Maloney is in second place after carding a 92 on the par 74 course at the Lancaster Country Club. She is nine strokes off of the first place pace set by East Stroudsburg's Karen Cash. Maloney's classmate, Julia Fiala, shot 93 for third place through 18 holes. Grace Gallagher and Saira Dar rounded out the Diplomats' scoring contingent. Gallagher is tied for sixth with a pair of West Chester golfers that shot 96. Dar is just behind in ninth having shot 98, bringing F&M in at 379.
West Chester's Courtney Kling and Tori Valente both shot 94 to finish the day in a tie for fourth place in the field of 21 golfers. They led West Chester to a 380 on Monday. ESU is nine strokes behind West Chester. Stevenson University rounded out the field with a 646.
Play resumes on Tuesday at Crossgates Golf Course in Millersville.
