Halfway Home, Diplomats Third

NEW TRIPOLI, Pa. – Halfway through the 36-hole Centennial Conference Women’s Golf Championships, Franklin & Marshall is in third place amongst the five scoring teams. Noel Stinchfield was the Diplomats top individual with a 94 on the par 72 Olde Homestead Golf Club, good enough for a ninth place tie amongst the 29 golfers.
McDaniel College owns a six-stroke lead heading into Sunday’s final round. The Green Terror has a pair of golfers tied for second place, Valerie Saucier and Jennie Weiner. Each shot 88 (+16) to finish four strokes behind the leader, Gettysburg’s Caroline Nathan. The Bullets are in second place with a team score of 362.
The Diplomats are in third - 45 strokes behind Gettysburg. Grace Gallagher is in 11th place with a 100 (+28), followed by Caroline Hailey in 14th (102/+30). Beth Holt rounded out the scoring foursome with a 111 (+39) for 21st place, while Andrea Huffman carded a 124 (+52) to finish up the F&M contingent.
The second and final round will be contested on Sunday.
