Eagles Soar Over Diplomats

LANCASTER, Pa. - Lindsay Moyer's lone goal late in the first half stood as the game winner as Eastern defeated Franklin & Marshall 1-0 in non-conference field hockey action Saturday afternoon.
Moyer took a loose ball at the top of the circle and found the back of the net just shy of the 30 minute mark in the first half. The Diplomats (1-1) had a chance with under a minute, but were unable to convert a penalty corner.
The Eagles (2-1) held a 25-14 advantage in shots and a 16-6 edge in penalty shots.
Naomi Stone (1-1) stopped 14 saves in absorbing the loss. The Eagles' Laura Ressler (2-1) picked up six of her own.
F&M returns to action September 8th when they travel to Eastern Mennonite. Game time is set for 6:00pm.
