Diplomats Defeat Royals in OT
Sep 8, 2009HARRISONBURG, Va. -- Franklin & Marshall defeated Eastern Mennonite 2-1 in overtime in non- conference field hockey action Tuesday evening. Kimmy Fisher found Eileen O'Reilly 3:56 in OT for the game winner.
The Royals (0-3) got on the board first when Alyssa Derstine found the back of the net 2:20 into the game. F&M's (2-1) Allison McLaren tied the game scoring in 14th minute.
Both teams shot 23 times, the Royals had 13 penalty corners to the Diplomats 11.
Naomi Stone picks up her second win, improving to 2-1. Stone stopped five shots in the contest. The Royals Becky Nolt took the loss, collecting four stops.
The Diplomats return to action September 12 when they travel to Neumann for a 1:00 P.M. game.
