Field Hockey Drops CC Decision To Washington, 1-0

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Washington College field hockey team scored off a penalty corner in the 65th minute to defeat Franklin & Marshall 1-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Friday night.
Kelsey Kemp scored the game-winning goal off assists from Danielle Rosato and Sara Rutkowski to help the Shorewomen (6-1, 3-0 CC) improve to 3-0 in the conference.
Jen Burdo made seven saves on the night for the Diplomats (3-5, 0-2 CC), while Elena Nicholoff tallied six stops in the win.
Washington fired off 16 shots, including seven in the second half and scoring off one of the 15 penalty corners taken for the victory.
Jessika Mancino and Pam Cassidy tallied two shots apiece for F&M, who totaled six shots on goal in the 70 minutes.
The Diplomats return to action on Wednesday against Gettysburg. Game time is 4 p.m.
