Bears Get Better of Diplomats

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The fifth-ranked Ursinus College field hockey team scored six goals in the first half enroute to a 10-1 win over Franklin & Marshall in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Friday night.

Six different players scored to lead the Bears (8-2, 6-0 CC) to their six straight conference. Kait Sutherland led Ursinus with three goals and one assist. Megan Yoder and Jennie Moore each scored twice for the Bears.

Mollie Ruben recorded her fourth goal of the season and the lone goal for the Diplomats (4-8, 1-4 CC) on an assist from Whitney Sheaffer.

There were three players with one goal each, including Michelle Wimmer, Bridget Resteco and Allysa Thren.

Ursinus grabbed a 4-0 lead before F&M got on the board. From there, the Bears scored six unanswered goals to the final result.

Jen Burdo made nine saves for the Diplomats.

F&M returns to action on Wednesday at Johns Hopkins. Game time is 7 p.m.
