2009-10 Women's Basketball Season Preview

When the 2009-10 Franklin & Marshall women’s basketball team takes the court, fans at the Mayser Center will see a lot of new faces. Gone is Cara Landolfi who turned in six double-doubles, and Amanda Miceli who scored in double-digits in eight games. Also gone is one of the most decorated players in F&M history, Sarah Meisenberg. Midnight Madness Set for Friday

The Diplomats are set to formally kick off the 2009-2010 season Friday night with Midnight Madness. The annual event will start at 11 p.m. in the Mayser Center, and will be the formal introduction of both the men’s and women’s basketball teams. (more)

Women’s Basketball Introduces Class of 2013

Franklin & Marshall women’s basketball coach, Ashlee Courter, announced her class of 2013 on Monday. Five players will don the Diplomats’ blue and white, joining a cast of nine returning players on F&M’s roster. (more)

Meisenberg Honored as Top Female Athlete

Sarah Meisenberg and Justin Herbert received that highest honor Franklin & Marshall bestows on their athletes, the Karvasales and Garrigues awards. The Karvasales Women’s Scholar-Athlete Award is given to the top athlete from F&M’s 14 female sports teams. The Garrigues Outstanding Senior Athlete for Men Award is given to the top male athlete. Meisenberg Selected to the 2008-2009 Jewish Sports Review All-America Team

Sarah Meisenberg was selected to the 2008-2009 Jewish Sports Review Women’s College Basketball All-America Team. The award marks Meisenberg fourth All-America honor in her basketball career. (more)

Hoops Still Making Strides

Three years ago, Ashlee Courter took over a team with a small roster in both number and size. One recruiting class later, the taller Diplomats were playing in the Centennial Conference Championship finals. This year, one of the tightest regular seasons in Centennial history, ended with F&M in the Centennial Conference Championship Semifinals. (more)

Jays Run Eliminates Diplomats

Lyndsay Burton and Kristin Phillip both scored 17 points as third-seed Johns Hopkins defeated second-seed Franklin & Marshall 75-58 in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championship Tournament. (more)

Meisenberg Named to All-CC First Team

Senior guard Sarah Meisenberg has been named to the All-Centennial Conference First Team, announced on Tuesday. The two-time captain and All-American leads the team with 14.8 points per game. (more)

Meisenberg Named Jostens' Finalist

Franklin & Marshall senior captain Sarah Meisenberg has been named one of 10 finalists for the Jostens Trophy, college basketball’s most prestigious individual honors. (more)

In 2009-2010, Ashlee Courter will enter her fourth season as the head women's basketball coach at Franklin & Marshall. In 2008-09, one of the tightest regular seasons in Centennial history, ended with F&M in the Centennial Conference Championship Semifinals. F&M won eight of the last 11 conference games played on the year and pieced together a five game winning streak late in the season to wrap up the campaign with a 14-12 record. Courter went over the .500 mark in career wins posting a 39-38 record in her three years at the helm.
