Meisenberg Named Jostens' Finalist

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall senior captain
Sarah Meisenberg has been named one of 10 finalists for the Jostens
Trophy, college basketball’s most prestigious individual
honors.
The Jostens Trophy is a national award created by the Rotary Club
of Salem, Va., to honor the most outstanding men’s and
women’s Division III basketball players of the year.
Recipients must exhibit excellence in basketball, academics and
community service. The trophy models the Rotary motto of
“Service above Self” by recognizing those who truly fit
the ideal of the well-rounded Division III student-athlete.
The pool of 10 men and 10 women finalists will be forwarded to the
35-person national selection committee to complete the process of
choosing the two Jostens Trophy winners. The recipients will be
announced on Thursday, March 19th in conjunction with the Division
III Men's Championship Tournament hosted in Salem, Va., on March
20-21.
Meisenberg, a two-sport All-American, is averaging 14.9 points, 5.0
rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. She has started all 25 games and
needs three more points to reach 1,500 for her career.
Meisenberg is double majoring in Biology and Public Policies, and
has been named a Presidential Scholar the last three years, while
being named to the Dean’s List on several occasions. She is a
member of the executive board for the Women’s Center and
apart of the task force for economic status of women in Lancaster
County. Meisenberg is instrumental with the College Connections
Program and participates in the Athletic Community Service Project
“TeamWork”. She also volunteers at the Bethesda
men’s shelter.
