Bucknell (1-4, 0-1 EIWA) at Franklin & Marshall (0-2, 0-1 EIWA)

Franklin & Marshall will host Bucknell University in Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association action Tuesday evening at the Mayser Center. The Bison stampede into town with two nationally ranked wrestlers on their roster, David Marble (133) and Andy Rendos (165), each rank 14th in their respective weight classes. (more)

Hornets Hand F&M Setback

Delaware State’s wrestling team won six of ten bouts to overcome Franklin & Marshall for the first time in the series’ history between the schools. The Hornets (2-1) swept 141 through 165, and then the final two bouts to take the tenth meeting with the Diplomats (0-2) 20-16. (more)

Diplomats Produce a Pair of Placewinners at Navy

Franklin & Marshall’s wrestling team produced a pair of placewinners at the Navy Classic Saturday afternoon. Al Gianforti placed fourth at 149 pounds, while Justin Herbert placed fifth at 174 pounds. Herbert’s fifth place finish marks the second-consecutive season in which he placed at Navy. The Diplomats’ senior finished third at 174 a year ago. (more)

Army Defeats Diplomats

Justin Herbert picked up Franklin & Marshall’s only win during a 41-3 loss at Army Tuesday evening in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) opener for both teams. (more)

Wrestlers Warming Up for Army

Franklin & Marshall will open its 2008-2009 dual meet and Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) schedule Tuesday night at West Point, where F&M will square off with Army for the 31st time in a series that began in 1926. The Black Knights lead the series 22-7-1, a lead that increased with last year’s 28-12 victory at the Mayser Center. (more)

Somers Fourth at Michigan State

Nico Somers placed fourth in the 285-pound open bracket to lead Franklin & Marshall’s effort at the Michigan State Open on Saturday. His afternoon marks the first time the 2006-2007 season that Somers placed in a tournament. He won the Wilkes Open and placed fifth at the Mat Town Open that season. (more)

Diplomats’ Matmen Ready to Roll

With four seniors and a strong incoming class, Franklin & Marshall’s wrestlers will open their 82nd season of competition this weekend in East Lansing at the Michigan State Open. The first tournament is part of a bulked up schedule designed for the new NCAA Championship allocation system. (more)

Southern Scuffle Field Announced

UNC Greensboro wrestling has announced the field for the 2008 Southern Scuffle that will take place Dec. 29-30 at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center. (more)

F&M Academy Reunion Honors Rupp

The Franklin & Marshall Academy held its reunion on Saturday, October 4, an event that honored Lancaster wrestling icon, Theodore Rupp. The Rupp Cup was formally unveiled at the reunion. Franklin & Marshall College and Millersville University, both of which were coached by Rupp, will wrestle for the trophy annually. (more)

Coach Schuyler began at F&M in the 1998-1999 season with the mission to rebuild the Diplomats into a powerhouse of Division I intercollegiate wrestling. To do this, Schuyler will look for athletes "who will do what it takes to achieve success as a student athlete and also as an alumnus in their chosen field." Schuyler has been actively building the F&M program since he came on board and has coached the Pennsylvania Junior National Team since the summer of 1999.
