Diplomats Tame Bears

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall’s men’s tennis team blanked Ursinus 9-0 in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s tennis on Monday. Three Diplomats (5-5, 2-3 CC) dropped one game or less in singles competition, while the full ladder dropped the Bears (2-9, 0-4 CC) in straight sets.

Doug Silverstein (7-8, 2-3 CC) was flawless in his blanking of Ursinus’ Kevin Dean at second singles. At first singles, Arman Vartan (7-7, 2-3 CC) dropped a single game in the second set to defeat Bennett MacGlauglan. Brad Nelson (8-5, 3-2 CC) pulled the same feat in his win over Greg Lewis at third singles.

Eric Rouff (8-5, 3-2 CC) ran his winning streak to three matches with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Josh Hollaman at fifth singles.

Vartan and Paul Salierno dropped just one game in their win at first doubles over MagGlauglan and Lewis. 

The Diplomats return to action on Wednesday at McDaniel.
