Diplomats Defeat Mules

LANCASTER, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall’s men’s tennis team defeated Muhlenberg in Centennial Conference (CC) men’s tennis on Saturday. The Diplomats (6-5, 3-3 CC) won four of six singles matches. The Mules (2-9, 0-4 CC) picked up wins in one out of three doubles matches.

Arman Vartan (8-7, 3-3 CC) dropped a single game in the first set, winning 6-1 and won 6-3 in the second to defeat John Osborne. Doug Silverstein (8-8, 3-3 CC) dropped three games in the first set, pulling out a 6-3 victory. He was perfect in second set defeating Zach Adler 6-0. Paul Salierno (5-5, 2-3 CC) and Eric Rouff (9-5, 4-2 CC) each picked up singles wins as well. Rouff's win was his fourth in as many matches.

Brad Nelson and Silverstein picked up a win doubles play, defeating Brian Wernick and Yoni Farber 8-0. The pair improved to 3-1 on the year and in conference play. Josh Calo and Eric Rouff handed the Mules a 9-7 setback.

The Diplomats return to action April 21st when they host Dickinson. Matches will start at 4pm.
