Grabiak and McCabe All-Americans; Grabiak 6th in 200 Breast

Grabiak Wins Consi Final

Tom Grabiak swam the top time in the consolation final of the men's 100-yard breaststroke during Friday evening's session at the 2009 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships. Now a three-time All-American, Grabiak touched the wall at 56:14, good enough for ninth place. His time was .09 seconds better than one of the eight championship finalists. (more)

Grabiak Grabs 100th All-America Honor

Franklin & Marshall junior, Tom Grabiak, earned the swimming program’s 100th All-America certificate, placing 10th in the 200-yard Individual Medley Wednesday. Grabiak entered the NCAA Division III National Championships at the University of Minnesota with the 25th seed time in the event. (more)

Diplomats Wrap Up Fifth Straight Title

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s swim team smashed the Centennial Conference record for team points in a championship en route to picking up the Diplomats’ fifth consecutive title and seventh overall. F&M scored 910.5 points over the three day meet, eclipsing the record of 780 set by the 2005 Diplomats. (more)

Diplomats Stare Down Own Record

The Centennial Conference men’s swimming championship appears to be in hand for Franklin & Marshall, the issue now appears to be tackling the Centennial’s record for team points in the championship meet. That record currently stands at 870, set by F&M in 2005 a squad ably captained by Patrick Godfrey. F&M needs 242.5 points to reset that mark. F&M will field 12 swimmers in the championships and three more in the consolations for the final assault, which gets underway at McGinness pool at 6:00 p.m. (more)

Dozen Diplomats Bound for Finals

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s swim team qualified 12 swimmers for the championship finals on the second of three days of Centennial Conference Championship competition. Amongst tonight’s finalists is Tom Grabiak, who posted an NCAA B-Cut time in the 100-yard breaststroke. (more)

Diplomat Men Smash Records; Blow Open Lead

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s swimmers posted two Centennial Conference (CC) championship meet records and four NCAA Division III B-Cut times during Saturday’s portion of the CC Championships. The hosting Diplomats have been anything but hospitable, breaking off a 174-point lead on the field two-thirds of the way through the CC’s final meet. (more)

Diplomats Dominant on Day One

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s swimmers opened a commanding lead on the first night of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships at the Diplomats’ McGinness Pool. The Diplmoats won three of the six finals contested Friday evening, including a record-breaking performance in the 400-yard medley relay. (more)

One of the most successful coaches in the history of Centennial Conference (CC) swimming, Rueppel has led the men's and women's swimming programs to eight CC Championships (out of a possible 16) in eight seasons. During his time at Franklin & Marshall, Rueppel has guided the swim teams to new heights. Highlights of his tenure include: Scholar All-American Honors in seven consecutive years; 45 individual athletes named to CC Academic Honor Roll; eight CC Championships; set 83 school records; set 55 CC records; 124 individual or relay CC Champions; 34 Division III All-Americans; Five CC Championship Meet Outstanding Performers; 3 National Champions.
