GETTYSBURG, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall's men's swimming team advanced five swimmers into the day two finals of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships, hosted by Gettysburg.
In the 400-yard individual medley, Patrick Greaney advanced to the final after a seventh-place finish (4:15.33) in the preliminaries, while Jordan Alter (4:24.63), Matthew Pozmanter (4:29.06), and Steven Latka (4:32.96) advanced to the consolations after placing 13th, 15th, and 16th, respectively.
Richard Denton is through to the 100-yard butterfly after posting a time of 52.08 and finishing fifth, and Richard Perry will also swim in the finals after touching the wall at 52.78, good for eighth. Cody Kalinowski (53.27) and David Burton (53.21) will swim in the consolations.
In the 200-yard freestyle, Dennis Chen (1:45.51) and Matthew Murphy (1:47.51) earned spots in the consolation after finishing 10th and 16th respectively, while Andreas Lair Ferrari (53.94) and Jack Currie (55.56) will race in the consolation race of the 100-yard backstroke after placing 11th and 16th respectively.
Ryan Caffrey finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.05, while Eric Lang finished sixth at 58.81 and both swimmers will race in the final tonight. William Cappuccio (1:02.41) will compete in the consolation after finishing 15th.
Day two finals begin at 6:00 p.m. tonight, where champions will be crowned in the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, and 800-yard freestyle relay.
