F&M Sits in Fourth After Day One

LANCASTER, Pa. – With day one of the Centennial Conference (CC) Championships complete, Franklin & Marshall's men's swimming team sits in fourth place with 151 points. The Diplomats trail Gettysburg (212), Dickinson (166) and Ursinus (158).

A team of Zach Wilt, Patrick Musselman, Jake Reingold and John Zipp earned bronze in the 200-yard freestyle relay, finishing the event with a time of 1:25.73. In the consolations, Dennis Chen, William Cappuccio, Tommy Bergstrom and Jin Hwang earned an 11th-place finish with a time of 1:29.10.

Reingold picked up silver in the 500-yard freestyle at 4:41.23. Tim Landon was the next Diplomat to touch the wall with a fifth-place finish at 4:45.39. In the consolations, Patrick Meehan finished in 13th with a time of 4:51.29.

In the 200-yard individual medley, Richard Denton picked up a ninth-place finish after winning the consolation event with a time of 1:58.46. Patrick Greaney was the next F&M swimmer to finish, earning an 11th -place finish at 1:58.84.

Zipp earned a fifth-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.40. In the consolations, Wilt touched the wall in 13th with a time of 22.17, followed by Musselman in 14th at 22.23.

In the final event of the day, a team of Musselman, Greaney, Denton and Zipp placed fifth in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:35.04.

The CC Championships resume tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. with preliminaries for the 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke and 100-yard backstroke.
