Men's Swimming Falls to TCNJ
Nov 8, 2008LANCASTER, Pa. - The College of New Jersey men's swimming team won nine out of the 11 events, including the first five of the race, to defeat Franklin & Marshall 124.5-80.5 in non-conference action on Saturday.
Joe Tseng won two individual events and swan a leg on the meet-opening winning 200 medley relay team comprised of Ted Yoa, Tom Medvecky and Mike Vernioa to lead the Lions to their second straight win over the Diplomats (0-2).
Tseng clocked in at 10:33.15 in the 1000 free to collect nine points and then posted a time of 54.60 in the 100 backstroke.
Tom Grabiak won both races for F&M, posting the Diplomats first victory in the 100 fly with a time of 54.63 to edge Vernioa, who touched in 54.73. He also captured the 100 breaststroke, winning in 1:01.02.
Matt Jaffee posted two second-place finishes in the 100 backstroke (55.29) and the 200 IM (2:03.71).
F&M opens up its conference schedule at Swarthmore on Saturday. Meet time is 2 p.m.
