Diplomats Swept in Quad
Nov 22, 2008LANCASTER, Pa. -- Franklin & Marshall’s men’s swim team was swept in a non-conference quadrangular with Washington & Lee, Carnegie Mellon, and Rochester. W&L defeated all three opponents in the meet.
Grabiak finished second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:14.68. CMU&rsq uo;s Andrew Seo won the race in 2:12.69. Grabiak also took third in a very tight 100-yard breaststroke. CMU swept the top two places with Jason Huber clocking a 1:01.24, followed by Seo at 1:01.31. Grabiak touched at 1:01.40, .24 seconds ahead of CMU’s Brad Henderson.
F&M finished third in the 200-yard medley relay. Matt Jaffee, Tom Grabiak, Peter Fishler, and Matt Woods combined for a 1:40, finishing 1.44 seconds off of the first place pace of W&L’s entry. That group edged Carnegie Mellon’s foursome by .03 seconds.
The Diplomats are idle until the F&M Invitational. The
two-day event gets underway on December 6.
