Four Diplomats Named to CC Sportsmanship Team

Four Franklin & Marshall athletes have been named to the All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team. Each Centennial Conference member institution was permitted to nominate one student from each fall program who exemplified the best in sportsmanship. Nominations were submitted by the athletic departments or head coaches. (more)

Three Diplomats Named All-CC

Three members of the Franklin & Marshall men’s soccer team were named to the All-Centennial Conference Team when it was announced Monday. One Diplomat was named to the conference’s First Team and a pair landed on the Second Team. The team is voted on by the conference’s coaches. (more)

Diplomats Fall in First Round

Two second half goals led Dickinson to a 2-0 victory over Franklin & Marshall in the first round of the Centennial Conference (CC) playoffs Wednesday afternoon. The loss brings the 2009 season to an end for the Diplomats as they finish at 9-6-3. The Red Devils (13-3-2) will face Muhlenberg on Friday in the semifinals. (more)

Twenty-Seven Diplomats Named to Academic Honor Roll

Twenty-seven Diplomats have been named to the 2009 Centennial Conference (CC) Fall Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must participate in at least 50% of his or her team’s contests, be a sophomore or higher and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.40. Playoffs!

It has been a successful and productive fall season for Franklin & Marshall athletics with three teams advancing to the Centennial Conference (CC) playoffs in their respective sports. The Diplomats’ Field Hockey, Men’s Soccer and Volleyball teams all made the CC postseason. (more)

Diplomats and Devils Draw

After 120 minutes of play, Franklin & Marshall and Dickinson remained in a scoreless 0-0 draw on the grass in Carlisle. (more)

Diplomats Claw Bears

Giuseppe Bua’s scored the game-winning goal with just 1:52 left in the second overtime leading Franklin & Marshall to a 2-1 victory over Ursinus in a Centennial Conference (CC) men’s soccer game. The win secures a playoff spot for the Diplomats (9-5-2, 5-2-1 CC). (more)

Today's men's soccer match at Ursinus has been postponed until tomorrow. The game is scheduled to start at 3:30 on Thursday, October 29th. (more)

Diplomats Battle #11 Hopkins to a Draw

For the second year in a row 110 minutes of action failed to produce a winner as Franklin & Marshall battled #11 Johns Hopkins to a 1-1 draw in a Centennial Conference (CC) men’s soccer game. This marks the fifth straight time the two teams have gone into overtime and the fourth time they have tied in a series dating back to 1993. (more)

The 19th head coach in Franklin & Marshall history, Dan Wagner was named the 2006 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. It was his fifth season as the squad's mentor. Wagner guided the 2006 Diplomats to a program-best 13-4-3 record. The team capped that with the school's first NCAA Division III Soccer Championship berth in a quarter century, and myriad postseason awards
