Diplomats Fall to Crusaders

SELINSGROVE, Pa. - Ralph Larsen scored the game-winning goal in the 68th minute as Susquehanna defeated Franklin & Marshall 2-1 in non-conference men's soccer action. The Crusaders improved to 5-8-1, while the Diplomats fall to 8-4-1.
The Crusaders struck first when Shane Atha netted a pass from Daniel Sosa with just 1:53 left in the first half. F&M's answered when Eric Noto tied the game at one apiece midway through the second half. Noto received a pass from Matt Melino and found the back of the net in the 59th minute. Susquehanna went up for good when a Crusader free kick was headed multiple times before landing at Larsen's feet for the game-winning goal.
Susquehanna held a 9-7 advantage in shots and earned six corner kicks to the Diplomats' four.
F&M keeper Zack Zamek takes the loss. Zamek picked up two saves and falls to 8-4-1. Pat Horan earned the win for the Crusaders, stopping three shots in the game.
Franklin & Marshall returns to action on October 17th when the Diplomats travel to Swarthmore.
