Nov 1, 2008

Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa. - For the fourth time this season, the Franklin & Marshall men's soccer team has battled to a draw with tonight taking Dickinson to a scoreless tie in Centennial Conference (CC) action on Saturday night.

The Diplomats (8-5-4, 3-2-4 CC) needed to defeat the Red Devils (11-4-2, 5-2-2 CC) and get help from conference opponents in order to make the upcoming CC tournament, but F&M could not find the back of the net to advance to the playoffs.

Neither team had many opportunities in the 110 minutes of soccer. Dickinson's Matt Edgar hit the post with 39 seconds left in the second overtime period for the closest chance with time expiring.

Matt Krantz worked hard on the left sideline for F&M to get the ball to the middle for possible scoring opportunities, but the Diplomats were blocked by the Red Devils' defense.

Zack Zamek kept Dickinson off the board by being in the right place at the right time and making a tremendous save with 8:57 left in regulation on a point-blank shot by Mike Montross. Zamek finished with seven saves.
