Anno Wins Second Gold Medal

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - Kwaku Anno picked up his second gold medal at the 2009 Centennial Conference (CC) Indoor Track & Field Championships, taking first in the 400m with a time of 51.14.

Anno, who came into the weekend seeded second in the 400m, narrowly beat Ryan Daniel of Dickinson for the gold. Anno also took fourth in the 200m with a time of 23:43 to earn five points and placed eighth in the high jump (5-08.75) for the Diplomats.

The Haverford men made it nine straight CC titles, collecting 150 points on the weekend for first. Ursinus finished second with a score of 101 and Dickinson was one point away from tying the Bears with 100 points. F&M took seventh overall, edging McDaniel and Swarthmore.

Ryan Bell ran 2:00.38 in the 800m for seventh place, marking the first time the Diplomats have scored in this event in at least four years. Bell was four seconds off the top runner Tim Schoch of Haverford.

The last event F&M competed in was the 4x400m relay. The team of Anno, Bell, Jared Pickell and Erik Olsen finished seventh with a combined time of 3:40.91.
