Diplomats Finish 21st at NCAA Championships

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s golf team shaved two shots off of their Friday round to post a 316 in the final round of the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships. The Diplomats put up a four round total of 1,242, to finish in 21st place amongst the 36 teams that began the Championship on Wednesday. Andrew Woods was the top F&M finisher, placing 56th overall out of the 185 golfers who began the tournament. (more)

Diplomats 20th Through 54

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s golf team slid a spot in the team standings, dropping to 20th place through 54 holes at the NCAA Division III National Championships. Andrew Woods slipped from a fourth place tie to a six-way tie for 13th place. (more)

Diplomat Golfers Honored

Two Franklin & Marshall golfers earned honors at the Golf Coaches of America Banquet Wednesday evening. The banquet is part of the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships. Danny Liebowitz was one of five golfers in the nation to be named to the All-Freshman Team. Liebowitz and Andrew Woods were named to the PING/Mid-Atlantic All-Region team. (more)

Diplomats Drop Eight Spots; Woods Still Fourth

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s golf team dropped back eight places during the second of four rounds at the NCAA Division III National Championships. The Diplomats went from 11th to 19 place, but survived the cutdown to 23 teams. (more)

Woods & Fucigna Card Career Bests at NCAA Championships

Franklin & Marshall juniors Andrew Woods and Joe Fucigna each carded career lows in the first of four rounds at the NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships. Their efforts leave the Diplomats tied for 11th place amongst the 36 teams after 18 holes at the PGA Village. Woods sits tied for fourth place with Fucigna in a six-way tie for sixth out of 185 golfers. (more)

Men's Golfers Claim Centennial Title

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s golf team captured their second Centennial Conference (CC) championship in three years and third overall on Sunday. The Diplomats shot a 54-hole total of 939, giving the champions a 12-stroke edge over second place McDaniel. (more)

Men’s Golf Takes 12-Stroke Lead Into Sunday

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s golf team will carry a 12-stroke lead on the field into Sunday’s final round of the 54-hole Centennial Conference Men’s Golf Championship. Andrew Woods, the individual leader through the first 18 holes, is two strokes off of first place entering Sunday at The Bridges Golf Club. (more)

Diplomats Tied for Lead After 18

Franklin & Marshall’s men’s golf team is tied for first place through 18 holes of the 54-hole Centennial Conference Championship Tournament. The Diplomats’ Andrew Woods shot 76 on the par 72 Bridges Golf Club to claim the individual lead. (more)

Diplomats Capture Falcon Classic

Franklin & Marshall produced the medalist and second place finisher en route to a ten-stroke win at the Messiah College Falcon Classic. Cameron Warner shot a 73 on the par 72 Blue Ridge Country Club for first place in the 92 golfer field. Danny Liebowitz was two strokes behind with a 75. The pair of Diplomats’ freshmen led F&M to its fifth win of the year. (more)









Andy Tompos ’69 assumed the helm of the Diplomats’ golf program in August 2008. Leading Diplomat golfers is old hat for Tompos, who captained the F&M golf team as a senior and was named captain emeritus. Formerly the top player in the F&M lineup, Tompos has served as an assistant coach since 2002 and volunteered for numerous years prior to his hiring.
