Liebowitz Stellar at Regional Invite

Apr 6, 2009

HERSHEY, Pa. – Franklin & Marshall freshman, Danny Liebowitz, shaved two shots off of his Sunday round of 77 to complete the Mid-Atlantic Region Invitational with a 152, good enough for a tie for fourth place in the field of 75 golfers.  Liebowitz led the Diplomats to a seventh place finish in the 15-team field.

The Diplomats combined for a 36-hole total of 639 to finish a shot ahead of Centennial Conference foe, Muhlenberg.  Carnegie Mellon and Washington & Jefferson each turned in a 614, with CMU claiming the Invitational Championship on a match of cards. Allegheny took third with a 623, nine shots better than fourth place McDaniel. McDaniel held a single stroke Rochester, the tournament host.

Liebowitz finished three strokes off of the championship score of 149, carded by Elmira’s Brandon Christo. Christo entered the day with a one-stroke lead on the field. Liebowitz entered Monday’s round tied for 13th.

Additional details will not be provided to competing institutions until Tuesday. GoDiplomats.com will have complete scores as soon as they are made available.

Franklin & Marshall returns to action next Monday when the Diplomats host the Bent Creek Invitational.
